A genetic risk score predicts recurrent events after myocardial infarction in young adults

Publication date: 7th October 2020

Conclusions:

  • The study demonstrates that a multilocus GRS can identify young nondiabetic individuals with AMI at higher risk of recurrent cardiovascular events, particularly among those with elevated baseline LDL-C levels. The inclusion of GRS in clinical risk models improves risk stratification and long-term prognosis for these patients.
  • CiC GRS identifies individuals at increased risk of long-term recurrences among young nondiabetic patients with AMI and improves clinical risk stratification models.
