The 34th National Congress of the Italian Society for the Study of Atherosclerosis (SISA) took place virtually on the 22nd of November. The Congress addressed several topics of interest in the field of cardiovascular atherosclerotic diseases.

Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is the most common genetic condition globally. FH causes high cholesterol and increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases and heart attack. However, 90% of patients born with FH go undiagnosed.
